I've had multiple sessions with Omar on different topics and every single one was worth it.
In one session, I was thinking about whether to proceed to the next level on the technical path I was already on or switch to the management track. Omar simplified the decision in a way that removed all the pressure and overthinking. Thanks to his guidance, I made the switch and I'm now an interim engineering manager for a new team.
In another session, we worked on how to manage a project with multiple stakeholders as a technical engineer. He shifted my mindset around moving fast and taking ownership. I applied it right away, started shipping faster, and the project reached a really strong place. I was able to hand it off to a colleague while having delivered more than what was expected. That mindset and the reputation I built through leading that project actually helped me land the engineering manager role.
